Privacy Policy
We do not pass user details to third parties unless it is to deliver services requested by users, or because we are required by law to do so. We do use anonymising web analytics packages and they have opt-out mechanisms which we describe below. We do require the use of cookies to make the basket and checkout process work.
Contact Details
We are regulated under European and UK laws on data privacy. Your information is stored so that we can deliver orders, and communicate with you. We will give contact details to our agents in order to provide you with good and services. For example, we will give your shipping address to UPS for product delivery.
We do not provide your contact details to third parties who are not involved in service delivery. We require our partners and agents, even if they operate in other jurisdictions, to respect our legal and ethical duties to respect your privacy.
Cookies
We store cookies on your computer to help us and you. Cookies are used to store state for the basket and for the checkout process, so we can remember what you are tryng to order. We do not store plain text confidential information in your cookies.
We also use anonymising cookies as part of advertising, so we can track how long it takes between clicking on an advertisment and purchasing, and how many pages users visit. This data is to help us to improve our web site, by understanding what users find to be more or less valuable.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics, amongst other packages, to help us understand anonymised user behaviour on our web sites. Google publishes information about how they use data, how to remove yourself from Google Analytics tracking.
Advertising
We sometimes use Google AdWords, and MSN AdCenter for advertising. These services use cookies to track user behaviour, so that we can measure the effectiveness of advertising. We do not use the cookies to identify individuals - we're interested in whether we should be spending more or less on specific search queries and adverts. Google provides details of their advertising tracking data and policies.
Payment Processing
We do not hold credit card details. We use payment processors - PayPal - who are PCI DSS compliant and who handle credit cards and other payent methods for us.
We record that you have made transactions with us, so that we can deliver products and services that you have ordered. We keep those records for many years, so that we can continue to service goods that you have bought from us - because we offer a long period warranty, we need to know about the exact purchase that you have made, for a long time, so that we can identify exactly which version of a product you bought - otherwise customer service becomes a guessing game that neither of us will enjoy.
Changes to the policy
We may change this plicy from time to time, as we use different services and as different threats to privacy are understood. We will keep this page upto date with changes.
